Who are we?

Ember Innovations

Ember Innovations is a team of experienced social innovation and systems strategists, entrepreneurs and mental wellbeing experts, and an entity within Ember Korowai Takitini, one of Aotearoa’s leading mental health NGOs. We are uniquely positioned with access to decades of experience in designing and delivering quality mental wellbeing and addiction recovery support services, along with the freedom to think differently and try new things. We partner with people, organisations and communities that are ambitious to implement new ideas that add value for better mental wellbeing

We believe every person should have access to a choice of wellbeing support whenever they need it. Our public health system cannot do this alone and we are working to ensure that every person in Aotearoa can access their choice of wellbeing supports, by investing our energy in innovators to develop and scale high-impact, equitable offerings.

Managed Moves

Managed Moves is a preventative model that is responsive to the needs of our most at risk and vulnerable tamariki. Its aim is to address the barriers to education that exist for this cohort of young people. Established in West Auckland, the Managed Moves model is now operating across various communities in Auckland including the whole of the Northshore. The Managed Moves team work closely with schools, alternative education, and the various agencies and community organisations that provide supports for young people, facilitating the development and implementation of one plan that everyone contributes to. The outcomes are already being seen with an increase in the number of young people re-engaged in their education and learning, and accessing supports more easily and effectively.

Paihere Charitable Trust

Paihere Charitable Trust was established in 2020 to support work like Managed Moves across the country and across ages. The aim is to support children and young people to succeed in education. They are committed to supporting and driving innovative bodies of work that achieve this purpose, and to affect systemic change. Alongside their support for the growth of Managed Moves, they are focused on trauma sensitive schooling and informing practice particularly in primary schools.
